A new search panel was made available today on bytheowner’s front page.

Located at the top of the right column, four(4) new ways to find a property for sale rapidly and efficiently are now available.

1. By keywords, search for the specific criteria of your dream home
2. By phone number, get to the listing that you saw in the newspaper or on the street
3. By street name, visit the home that you saw for sale while you where driving home
4. By access code, go directly to your property for sale on the website

The keyword search has been disabled for one year. Many people asked for its comeback so there it is!

ByTheOwner customers now have access to a new tool that allows them to detail their room dimensions to the potential buyers. This option is available in the Your account section under the Room dimensions link. Those informations will appear in the listings right above the mortgage calculator.

Here’s an example of how it’ll look like in the listings.

The detailed stats page provides to the owners all the infos concerning the number of visits on their listing, the number of times their property is displayed in the search results and the number of unique visitors coming to their property. When a potential buyer visits a property for the second time, it is not counted as being “unique”.

An important update took place today in the search results section on bytheowner.comThe new layout, which was tested for a couple of months on the rental website was adapted and adopted for the main website. Visitors can now consult short paragraphs of introduction about the properties without having to enter their detailed descriptions.

An online property value report option has been added this week in the homes for sale’s descriptions. It’s available for most of the properties in Ontario, Quebec, Alberta and Nova Scotia.

This online tool, from Home Valuations Canada, provides an instant online estimated value of your home based on market sales and trends in your area.

A link located in the I’m interested! box of each property’s description will take you to the homevaluationscanada.com website, where you can order your report.
