For a year now, the 5 digits codes that used to be indicated on the lawn signs have been replaced by the owner’s phone number. To make it easier to find a property that you’ve seen on the street, a new search tool has been inserted on the right column of ByTheOwner’s home page.

Enter the phone number in the box and you’ll get directly in the properties description.

Note that you don’t have to follow any particular format when you enter the number.

For a while now, all the properties sold through ByTheOwner are available under the View sold properties tab of the search results. Access to this information is a great tool to help home owners set up the price for their for sale property.

Our paying customers also have access to a special report of similar properties in the Your account section. Consulting this report usually gives a pretty good idea of the price that can be asked for your home.
I don’t know any other websites that gives those infos at the moment. This would be great for the fsbo trend in Canada!

What do you think of the search tools offered on ByTheOwner? Do you find them too complicated? Not enough? I’d be highly interested in having your thoughts on the subject because we are starting to think about reprogramming those pages.

À force d’avoir le nez dans le site, et d’en connaître tous les recoins, il m’est difficile de me mettre dans la peau de quelqu’un qui visiterait le site pour la première fois.
